Wonderful pair of concrete 'loop' chairs by Willy Guhl with a table/stool by Ludwig Walser. A beautiful pastel rouge color on one chair and a pastel violet on the other with the table painted in a pastel rouge as well. The paint and finish on all three pieces has slowly aged and distressed over the years creating a beautifully speckled patina finish with the grey concrete showing through. The accompanying stool designed by Ludwig Walser in 1959 can be used as a side table, unifying each piece to create an almost perfect ensemble. Fantastic set of sculptural concrete furniture. Great vintage condition. Priced as a set of three. Would look incredible both in and outdoors.

Willy Guhl was a Swiss industrial designer, who in the mid-20th century pioneered the application of utilitarian materials, notably concrete, in modern outdoor furniture design, such as his in the design of his iconic Loop Chair. Guhl became renowned for his use of fiber-reinforced concrete, a composite material that combines cement with fibers to enhance strength and durability. His designs, marked by clean lines and functional elegance, reflect a commitment to both beauty and use. Guhl's design and creative use of materials contributed to a redefinition of the aesthetic and functional possibilities of concrete in design during the mid-20th century.
