Set the mood with this gorgeous pair of large "Taccia" table lamps. Designed by Achille Castiglioni for the lighting manufacturer Flos, these robust objects stand as a testament to the quality and aesthetic of Italian midcentury design. The steel base of each light features a scalloped post with a silver finish. A concave glass bowl diffuser balances atop the base, and can be manually adjusted to rest at any angle. An aluminum shade in a white finish sits snugly on the diffuser to soften the emitting light. both lights are wired for the US and include dimmer slides to adjust the brightness. Great condition with some overall wear. Incredible presence. Looks great placed on a table or on the floor. Priced individually.

Achille Castiglioni
b. 1918
Achille Castiglioni was a visionary Italian industrial designer known for his witty, minimalist approach to everyday objects. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he worked closely with his brothers, especially Pier Giacomo, creating enduring designs that combined innovation with a sense of play. Many of his most iconic works, including the Arco lamp and the Toio light, were produced for the Italian lighting company Flos, with whom he maintained a long and fruitful collaboration. Castiglioni’s inventive use of materials and keen focus on functionality earned him nine Compasso d’Oro awards and a lasting legacy in 20th century design.
