Sculptural Wood Crate Chair
Amazing pair of hand-built solid wood chairs, made from shipping crates. Incredibly bold, architectural silhouette that reads more like a small sculpture than a conventional seat. Each chair is constructed from thick, square-profile timber: the legs form open, loop-like frame. The ladder backs are built from stacked horizontal slats, spaced to let light and shadow move through them. One back is built from three wider slats, the other from four narrower ones.
The wood has a warm, honey-toned finish with plenty of visible grain, knots, and joinery on display. Great coloring and patina.
