Massive Industrial Two-Sided Backlit Clock and Thermometer
A striking and rare two-faced industrial display unit, originally designed for exterior public or commercial use. One face presents a backlit clock with bold black numerals on an illuminated white panel; the reverse displays a matching backlit temperature gauge scaled from -20° to 120°F, labeled "TEMP" in period-appropriate block lettering. Both faces are framed in brass-toned metal with a backlit acrylic panel that glows when powered.
The cube-format steel housing retains its original red-oxide paint with incredible patina and surface wear consistent with decades of outdoor service. A cylindrical pole-mount post rises from the top, suggesting the piece once stood sentinel outside a bank, factory, or transit facility. The power cord is intact and the unit illuminates.A confident, graphic object equally at home as a functional timepiece or a sculptural industrial statement. Clock motors restored and keep perfect time. Temperature gauge works as well. Thin hairline crack on the temperature gauge side. One of the coolest pieces we have.
