The vessel's asymmetric profile curves and pinches along one edge, giving the piece real movement and a distinctly organic, hand-formed presence from every angle. The interior is fitted with a grid of drilled drainage holes, consistent with Guhl's functional approach to outdoor planter design. Decades of exterior life have given the surface a rich, chalky patina — mottled gray and white tones with soft traces of moss and lichen.
