Pair of rare chairs by French architect and Art Deco Modernist designer and icon of luxurious French Modernism, Jacques Adnet, circa 1950s. Each chair upholstered in sumptuous green leather. Brass and leather bamboo signature detailing with quintessential Adnet contrast stitching. Brass spherical feet on the end of each leg with X crossbar on the underside providing excellent stability. Wonderful vintage condition. Only one still available.

Jacques Adnet
b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
