An oversized desk paper clip by the Parisian silversmith Ravinet d'Enfert. Ravinet d'Enfert made desk and bar accessories for Hermès. This piece has that same refined feel found in that work. The silver-plated body is rounded at one end and cut square at the other. Set into its surface is a single brass feather, chased in fine detail from the central quill out to each delicate barb. It's substantial and well made, and it holds a stack of letters, notes or documents in place. On a desk it reads as much like a small object as a tool. The warm brass against the soft, matte silver gives it a quiet, very French elegance. It pairs nicely with the Ravinet d'Enfert feather letter opener, also available in a separate listing.
