Incredibly heavy and substantial this "DARK ROOM IN USE " light box sign makes a great piece of art. Its glowing red letters once warning anyone at the door not to open it and ruin a roll of film. Cast in a heavy black-painted steel housing with a milk-glass style diffuser panel, DARK ROOM IN USE, hand-stenciled red block letters — the kind of confident, no-nonsense industrial typography that only comes from equipment made to be seen and obeyed from across a room. Visible slotted screws hold the face plate in place. 
It has real heft in hand, built the way commercial fixtures used to be: thick-gauge steel, tight seams, and hardware meant to outlast the building it hung in.
