Active from 1941 to 1980, Raymor was an American import company and distributor that, despite mainly sourcing its products internationally, also oversaw the production of a limited quantity of goods in the United States. Collaborating with leading designers from America, Italy, and Scandinavia, Raymor played a significant role in shaping mid-late 20th-century design. Originally incorporated as Russel Wright, Inc in 1936, the company, founded by entrepreneur Irving Richards (1907-2003), achieved prominence for being at the forefront of popular American tastes. The brand was liquidated on April 8th, 1980, marking the conclusion of its influential presence in the design industry.
