Amazing piece of Italian Space Age design, this asymmetric chrome chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari. Italian Rome-based designer whose sculptural lighting for Sciolari Lighting defined the geometric, architectural mood of 1970s Italian interiors. Rectangular chrome bars cantilever off a central stem at varying heights and angles, forming a floating, city-skyline silhouette — a hallmark of Sciolari's most sought-after "cubist" and "brutalist" series. Exposed round bulbs are set directly into the chrome blocks letting the polished geometry and the light sources read as a single sculptural composition. Its irregular, multi-directional arms give it a dramatically different silhouette depending on the viewing angle — equally at home as a dining table centerpiece or as a sculptural statement over a bar, entry, or seating area.
