Designer Notes
In the Style of Walter Lamb
b. 1900
After Walter Lamb trained in architecture at UC Berkley, he found himself living in Hawaii during the Second World War. Affected by the wreckage, Lamb began to salvage metal tubing from sunken ships at Pearl Harbor, using the material to create outdoor furniture. His innovative use of materials was profoundly influential to the modernization which characterized postwar design.
