Fantastic leather side table by French designer Jacques Adnet. Leather wrapped legs with brass detailing, and brass ball feet. Metal rack underneath with 3 different spaces for storing books or magazines. Tabletop is wrapped in black leather with brass screw detailing. Tabletop is also wrapped in leather. Great vintage condition. Very sturdy, substantial table. Excellent piece of collectible design and Jacques Adnet furniture.

Jacques Adnet

b. 1900

Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
