Designer Notes
Pierre Guariche
b. 1926
Pierre was a famous architect and designer born in France, 1926. Sometimes called the French Charles Eames, Guariche was a leader of the mid-century design movement. Using slender and angular lines, Guariche used the materials that were available in post WWII France. Guariche made furnitures with plastic and fiberglass and became head of the Belgian company Meurop in the late 1950s. His Tonneau chair, made in plastic, wood, fiberglass and aluminum may be his most collectible design.
