A gorgeous coat rack by French designer Jacques Adnet. The black iron frame is completely wrapped in black leather, featuring Adnet's signature contrast stitching. Each hook is also wrapped in leather with a single piece of curved bamboo for hanging items. Leather strap covers the screw holes to the wall. Good vintage condition with very little wear. Some variation in degree of curve to hooks between each rack. Like any Adnet piece, this coat rack is hand-made with meticulous attention to detail, and would be a stunning addition to any home or office. Incredibly rare. Currently the only leather and bamboo coat racks offered for sale on the marketplace.

Jacques Adnet
b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
