Overview

A horseshoe-shaped ashtray in the style of French designer Jacques Adnet, made in France in the 1950s. The ceramic tray has a deep emerald-green glaze, and gold-glazed square accents around the rim stand in for the nail holes of a horseshoe. A raised green block at the top acts as a cigarette rest, and a gilded notch at the base holds a second cigarette. The base is wrapped in Adnet’s signature style. Saddle-leather, with contrasting cream hand stitching that follows the horseshoe’s curve and cutout. It works as an ashtray, vide-poche, or catchall on a desk, entry table, or bar cart. The leather has a warm, even patina. Great Piece.
