Leather is wrapped in a way that gives a bamboo look to the lamp. Delicate lines and beautiful presence. Signature Adnet contrast stitching throughout. Beautiful tripod base also wrapped in leather, with brass ball feet. Stunning condition to leather and brass. Rare find. Newly rewired with custom silk lamp shade. b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
