Stunning steel floor lamp by French modernist designer Jacques Adnet. Made in France in the 1950s. Horseshoe shaped base with with thick steel frame. Thick saddle leather accents wrap around the frame in five locations; two at the base, and three going up the stem of the lamp. Heavy and substantial piece. New custom silk lampshade and diffuser. Newly rewired. Great vintage condition.

Jacques Adnet
b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
