Pierre Gautier-Delaye
b. 1923
Pierre Gautier-Delaye was an architect, a furniture designer and an industrial designer. Born in Paris, France in 1923 pierre began his design journey after meeting the architect René Faublée. Gautier-Delaye draws much of his inspiration from the mountains he healed in and called home for years during his stay in Haute-Savoie. After graduating from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1951, he was quickly hired by the Parisian branch of the American agency founded by the industrial designer Raymond Loewy: the Compagnie d'Esthetique Industrielle.
