Handsome black leather and brass floor lamp by French designer Jacques Adnet. Made in France in the 1950s. Completely wrapped in original black leather. Sitting on brass ball feet. Sleek stem which features the signature Adnet bamboo design with leather and brass ring separators. Tripod base also wrapped in leather with brass rings fastening the base to the stem. Signature Adnet contrast stitching down every leather seam. Excellent age and patina to black leather. New custom silk lamp shade and light diffuser. Newly rewired. Great vintage condition.

Jacques Adnet
b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
