Concrete and Steel Floating Bench
Remarkable mid-century floating concrete bench by Swiss Architect Willy Guhl. Circa 1960s. Sturdy and substantial. Holds the weight of 3 adults easily. Perfect minimal design as is common with the Swiss designer. The seat is made of fiber cement with a rounded concrete top and bottom that curves and fits snugly onto the steel base. Bench floats on a tubular metal frame in a perfect vintage green paint. Incredible patina to both seat and frame. Usually only found in fiberglass. This concrete version is much rarer. Wear as shown. A beautiful piece with gentle lines and strong presence.
