Handsome black coat stand / valet by Jacques Adnet. Valet has a black iron base with brass ball feet giving it an elegant and contrasted brutalist touch. Iron body wrapped in a black leather with brass ring separators giving it the classic Adnet bamboo design. Leather wrapped catch all and coat/pant holder suspended in the middle of the rack and mounted by 2 brass nuts. Every seam has the signature Adnet contrast stitching making this a stunning collectible piece of Adnet design. Beautiful vintage condition with no tears or bends.

Jacques Adnet
b. 1900
Jacques Adnet, born on the 20th of April 1900, was a French art deco modernist designer, architect and interior designer. As one of the Godfathers of modern French design his pieces have become highly sought after and collectible pieces which grace most major furniture collections around the world. He believed in the functional aspect of furniture combined with geometrical simplicity. From 1928 to 1960, he directed La Compagnie des Arts Francais during which time he partnered with Hermès to produce a collection of leather-covered furniture and accessories. Known for his mastery in incorporating precious woods, metal and leather into simple, elevated and timeless designs which would stand the test of time.
