World War II AN-M8 flare gun used by American B-17 Bomber crews. Stamped U.S Property on the side of the gun. These were used when returning from missions and raids to signal to landing crews on airfields or aircraft carriers wether they had injured persons on board. The pistol would be loaded with a red flare and attached to a port in the aircraft and fired out into the sky when approaching for landing. In beautiful condition. An interesting piece of US WW II and aviation history. Fully functioning. Sold without flares. Only one available.
