Stunning teak Senate chair fully reupholstered in a cappuccino cowhide designed by Pierre Jeanneret for Chandigargh. Plush seat resting on two "V Legs" with a generous armrest which sits at a comfortable height of 26". All new cushions. These 'Senate' or 'Committee' chairs were used in offices and conference rooms. Purchased originally from the Indian government. Have all photos from before and after careful restoration. Restoration done by artisans in India who specialize only in Jeanneret. Excellent condition. Two available. Priced individually.

b. 1896
Pierre Jeanneret was a swiss architect who worked closely with his cousin, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (known by the pseudonym Le Corbusier. They set up a studio together in 1922 and worked closely with Charlotte Perriand at their studio Rue de Sevres for 10 years (1927-1937). Jeanneret is most well known for his designing of the buildings and furnishings of Chandigarh, India. Jeanneret died in 1967 and his ashes were scattered in a lake in Chandigarh.
