Excellent pair of oak and leather armchairs designed by Hans Wegner. 1960s, Denmark. Rich, dark tone to wood recently refinished. Dark brown leather seat, backrest and neck pillow. Extremely comfortable. GE-530 chairs. Armrests were designed to resemble bull horns. Stark contrast of hard lines and soft leather. Great vintage condition. Stamped 'Getama Gedsted - Design Hans J. Wegner' on underside of each chair. Priced as a pair.

Hans Jørgensen Wegner was a renowned Danish furniture designer, celebrated for his innovative and elegant contributions to modern furniture design. A leading figure in the mid-century modern movement, Wegner was known for his mastery of wood craftsmanship and his ability to combine functionality with aesthetic beauty. He designed over 500 chairs, with some of his most iconic pieces being the Wishbone Chair, the Round Chair, and the Shell Chair.
