Goyard Lingerie Trunk 1920s France
Classic vintage Goyard trunk. Made in the 1920s. Large wooden frame wrapped in the iconic Goyard canvas print with saddle leather and brass hardware as well as wooden supports on the front and back. Goyard branding engraved on the brass hardware throughout as well as the initials ESS on the sides. Incredible patina and coloring to leather and canvas. Accents of blue and yellow paint give this trunk amazing character. Timeless simplicity in design and iconic badging have made this brand a staple of elegance since 1853. Initially started as a malletier for the aristocrats of the 1800s, Goyard developed it's "Goyardine" canvas which is made up of three layers blending linen and cotton and covered with a resin that makes it waterproof and provides a leather look. Goyard has kept its original location in Paris which is imprinted on all their pieces. The branding reads "233 Rue St Honoré, Paris" with the Goyard name above. Some wear and missing drawers inside as shown. 100 years old. Large open space for goods. Good vintage condition.
