A raised green block at the top acts as a cigarette rest, and a gilded notch at the base holds a second cigarette. The base is wrapped in Adnet’s signature saddle-leather, with contrasting cream hand stitching that follows the horseshoe’s curve and cutout. The equestrian motif and the pairing of glazed ceramic with stitched leather are typical of Adnet’s work from this period. It works as an ashtray, vide-poche, or catchall on a desk, entry table, or bar cart. The leather has a warm, even patina.
