A large 139 piece Sterling Silver flatware set in the Countour pattern by Towle of Newburyport, MA. Contour was introduced in 1951. Contour has a soft and flowing appearance, it has a play of concave and convex surfaces. The objective of ornament is achieved by the modeling of the basic form. The pattern was designed by John Van Koert (1912-1998). Set includes : 13 butter knives, 12 dinner knives, 24 teaspoons, 12 dinner forks, 12 salad forks, 12 seafood forks, 12 desert spoons, 12 soup spoons, 12 iced tea/parfait spoons, 3 large servings spoons, 1 large perforated serving spoon, 2 large cold meat forks, 1 pie server, 1 large gravy ladle, 1 small cream ladle, 1 medium spoon, 3 piece carving set with two knives and one fork, 2 master butter/cheese knives, 1 small pie/cake server and 1 pickle fork. Comes with case as pictured. Set in excellent condition. Any blemishes or inclusions are just glare from the photos.
